UK Disability History and Heritage Hub
About UK Disability History and Heritage Hub
The UK Disability History and Heritage Hub is a small group, created by PhD students with links to the heritage industry. We felt there was space for a network to allow those interested in Disabled, Neurodiverse, and D/deaf histories, from the ancient world to the modern era, to connect and collaborate.
This hub is open to researchers, students, archivists, museum professionals, activists and anyone in-between!
Disability History Monthly Event Group
We run monthly events to discuss different disabled, neurodivergent, and d/Deaf histories.
These are often reading groups, but future events will be other types of events!
We'll host a session every month, normally the last Thursday of the month, at 17:00 BST. These will be on Zoom. Sign up below to be added to our mailing list!
Let us know if you would be interested in suggesting readings or leading a discussion.
Please note - this is a separate mailing list to our News Bulletin list.
UKDHHH News Bulletin
Recently we have launched a monthly news bulletin, to help you keep up with everything happening in the world of disability history.

About us
Why make the Hub?
The hub was launched in April 2022, following an event exploring disability history in the heritage industry titled 'Invisible and Under-Represented? Disability History, Objects and Heritage.' Using this event as a springboard, the PhD and MA students involved in organising and running the conference wanted to create a platform to help facilitate these conversations in UK academia and heritage.
